Telephone Virus Scam Alert?
We are aware that some of our customers are receiving Telephone Calls from Foreign Gentlemen saying that their Computer has numerous problems including Viruses and that they can either correct the problem by accessing their machine or guide them through the corrective measures.
When told that they would call their usual computer support they are told that there is not time as immediate action must be taken or loss of data would follow.
We would urge customers not to entertain this 'offer' as it is unlikely that the caller would know of any problems on their machine, and why would they be contacted 'out of the blue'
They are very convincing and we know of at least one instance when over £100.00 has been charged to a Debit Card.
The danger is of course that once they have card details you can be put to alot of inconvenience and also risk losing money.
